SOPHIE STEENGRACHT

Sophie Steengracht (NL, 1991) portrays the changing relationship between people and their environment. Due to globalization and technological change, humans are becoming further removed
from natural resources. With her colorful, symbolic paintings, she aims to reveal the power and beauty of nature and demonstrate that it is worth treating it respectfully and consciously. In her biodynamic garden, she cultivates plants that she studies, draws,
and photographs. She also uses pigments and dried plants from nature in her paintings and works on paper.
